Describing his travels to Valencia, Malaga, the habit of eating turkey on Christmas, a midnight Mass accompanied by Basque drums in the rhythm of a Spanish dance, saying the queen sent him a plaque, which he has worn only twice and is already ruined, asking for news, especially of [Samson et] Dalila, mentioning the difficulty in reading Saint-Saëns's handwriting, etc.
